Background information

Ashby Hastings Primary School opened for its first cohort of pupils in August 2021. These are Foundation Stage pupils (also known as Reception, FS2 and 4+ pupils)

The Secretary of State for Education has entered into a funding agreement with the Symphony Learning Trust to run Ashby Hastings Primary School. A funding agreement is the contract between the Secretary of State for Education and the Trust that sets out the terms on which the new school is funded.

We have a firm commitment to providing an outstanding education for all the pupils of Ashby Hastings Primary and look forward to welcoming this new school in the heart of the community to our Trust.

The Education Act 2006 places a statutory duty on the County Council to ensure that there is a strong supply of good school places available to meet demand. Due to the housing developments and the current lack of capacity of other surrounding primary schools, Leicestershire County Council have deemed that a new primary school be built to ensure schooling- needs for the local community are met.
