Applying for a place at Ashby Hastings Primary School

Do you have a child due to start school in August 2026?

Ashby Hastings Primary School invites you to our Open Evening on Thursday 25th September from 6.00pm - 7.00pm.

Come along and find out what we can offer your child and what makes our growing school, Ashby Hastings, a welcoming and exciting option for your child.

Tours of the school will be available to book during the evening.

Ashby Hastings is currently accepting applications for pupils to join the school in Foundation Stage for the 2026/27 academic year (applications open 01/09/2025).  We are currently open for children in Foundation to Year 5 in 2025/26.

Arrangements for 2025/26 Academic Year

The Governors have agreed to set an Operational Capacity of 30 pupils in the vertically grouped Class 4  (consisting of Year 4 and Year 5 pupils). This means once the (combined) Year 4 and Year 5 class reaches 30 all applications will be refused, however families will still have the right of an appeal. The structure for 2025/26 is as follows:

Class Name Planned Admission Number 30 per year
Foundation Year R 30 pupils
Class 1 Year 1 30 pupils
Class 2 Year 2 30 pupils
Class 3 Year 3  30 Pupils
Class 4  Year 4 and 5

Operation Capacity of 30 Pupils

Applications for places at our school are managed by Leicestershire County Council; the school does not deal with place allocations directly. Please visit the Local Authority website (www.leicestershire.gov.uk/admissions) for advice and to apply online for a school place.

Paper copies of application forms can be obtained by telephoning the Admissions Department on 0116 305 6684. Appeals are administered by Leicestershire County Council. You can access the appeals information here
